CRS Spain.
Megens Real Estate has been recognized by and a member of CRS-Spain since 2015, a trade organization and quality mark for real estate agents in Spain. Not every real estate agent is allowed to use this quality mark. The CRS-Spanin organization is not for profit. The CRS recognition follows after attending a number of course days that are concluded with an exam. In addition, a completed HBO education and at least 5 years of work experience as a real estate agent in Spain are required.
The mission of CRS is to attract and retain real estate agents specialized in the residential sector. Professionals who are looking for the knowledge, tools and relationships they need to optimize their professionalism, efforts and income. CRS distinguishes the best professionals with agents who have the necessary training and experience to offer their customers a service of exceptional quality.
CRS is a non-profit organization founded in the USA, within the National Association of Realtos (NAR), to train real estate agents. CRS-Spain has translated the training into Spanish, the exams are also in Spanish. The course includes: Listing (putting on sale), Marketing of properties, Negotiating, Coordination of the real estate agency, Time and Team Management.
Every year a large 2-day conference takes place with top speakers from the industry. CRS also regularly organizes webinars, a new course is coming. Members are kept informed and are expected to stay informed of current developments in the Spanish real estate industry. Of course there are informal meetings, a pleasant lunch with colleagues to share information about interesting objects and opportunities in the market. Networking is also important in southern Spain!
What are the advantages for a buyer or seller of a Spanish property?
- The CRS quality mark stands for trust and expertise.
- More than 20 years of experience as a real estate agent and affiliation with this quality mark guarantees professionalism; the interests of (sales) buyers of a house on the Costa del Sol are excellently represented.
- A larger network of real estate agents and available properties throughout Spain.
- Knowledge of the Spanish language and jargon associated with real estate transactions.
- The profession of real estate agent o.g. Is a liberal profession in Spain, in many offices it is sufficient if you are commercially adept or can just talk well. Familiarity with the area, architectural insight into Spanish houses and sound knowledge of real estate transactions are often lacking. Unfortunately, you read the excesses in the news. It is a pity that this sometimes has a stain on the industry. Fortunately, this does not apply to every real estate agent in Spain.
Unfortunately, there is (still) no requirement from the government for recognition or registration for employees and self-employed persons in the real estate sector. Although the regional government voted in 2019 for a law that regulates this, no date has yet been announced when this law will come into effect. Until then, anyone who wishes to do so may call themselves a real estate agent.
The advantage of a registration such as CRS-Spain, for example, is that requirements are set for professionalism, education and work experience.
MEGENS Real Estate is also a member of the Premium brand SIRA.
Quality and professionalism are a priority.
